Classic Butter Corn | Simple Lip-Smacking Recipe

This simple yet elegant classic butter corn recipe at home is kids-friendly and for adults. That makes a great evening filling-snack. Making this mug recipe with fresh tender corn kernels available in the monsoon is a specialty.

The recipe comes together quickly if you have steamed corn available at home. I prefer using fresh corn kernels or corn cobs, but if not, you can also use canned or frozen.

It only needs four pantry ingredients readily available in each home, so there is no need for fancy items to make your delicious corn chaat.

Furthermore, the details about corn, its types, boiling time, and how to do it are all mentioned in this recipe.

Type of butter to use while making buttered corn recipe:

You can use salted butter or unsalted butter for the mug meal. Even if you are health conscious, use olive oil instead of butter.

I am using regular salted butter in the desi corn chaat so that you can go for it. Also, you can substitute more or less as per your taste.

  • You can use fresh ears of corn, canned or frozen.
  • If using frozen corn, thaw them first and then boil.
  • Do not overcook the corn.
  • Seasoned water, if possible, to boost the tang. Do not skip this part if you have every list of items in your pantry.
  • Allow the corn to cool for a bit.
  • Adding lemon juice to the chaat is optional, as per your tastebuds.
  • I am using chaat masala in the mug meal. If you do not have it, you also use dry mango powder.
  • Instead of salt, you can add black salt.
  • Be careful while adding more salt while making the chaat, as we have added salt while boiling the corn cob.
