For Tempering:
- 1 tbsp Oil

- 1 Whole Red Chili
- ½ tsp Asafoetida

Method:
- Wash 2-3 times the dal and soak it for 15-20 mins. Put the pressure cooker on the stove, add 3-4 tbsp oil, 1 tsp jeera, 1 bay leaf, 1 black cardamom, ½ tsp asafoetida, a few cloves, and a few black pepper. Let it sputter.
- Add 1 green chili, a few curry leaves, and 1 chopped onion. Stir it well until the onion becomes translucent. Then add 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste and mix it.
