Tandoori Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Chicken
  • 2 tsp Turmeric
  • 3-4 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 2-3 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
  • 2-3 tbsp Kashmiri Red Chili
  • 2 tsp Cumin-Coriander
  • Salt to taste
  • ¾ cup Hung curd
  • 1 tsp Kasturi Methi
  • ½ tsp Chat Masala
  • 2 tbsp Tandoori Chicken Masala
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 piece Coal
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • Butter to brush
  • 1 tsp Cardamom Powder

Method:

First Marination:

  1. Clean and wash the chicken thoroughly. Place the washed chicken on a plate, and add salt, turmeric, ginger-garlic paste, and lemon juice.
  2. Mix the ingredients well and allow the chicken to marinate for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Second Marination:

  1. In a bowl, combine oil, salt, turmeric, red chili powder, Kashmiri red chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, cumin-coriander powder, tandoori chicken masala, garam masala, kasturi methi, chaat masala, cardamom powder, and hung curd.
  2. Mix the ingredients until a smooth paste is formed. Add the chicken to the marination, ensuring all pieces are well-coated.
  3. On high flame, heat a piece of coal. Place the hot coal in a small bowl or plate, add ghee on top, and cover with a lid for 3-4 minutes. This will infuse a smoky flavor into the chicken. Remove the lid and the coal, allowing the marination to rest for about 1 hour.

Cooking Process:

  1. Preheat the microwave oven to 230 degrees Celsius.
  2. Place the marinated chicken on a wire rack or microwave-safe plate and bake for 30-40 minutes until it’s tender.
  3. Once cooked, brush the top of the chicken with butter.
  4. Switch to the grill option on the microwave oven and grill the chicken for 5 minutes on each side to achieve perfect grill marks.
  5. Once done, serve your tandoori chicken with green chutney or red chutney, along with your favorite side dishes. Enjoy!

Cooking time: 40-50 minutes
