Punjabi Sweet Lassi | Refreshing Summer Cooler

3 min read

Thick and creamy yogurt-based drink, quite popular in Punjab and Northern India. It is a cooling and refreshing drink to have during the hot summer days and usually served along with meals, or a standalone drink.

There are various versions of lassi such as mango lassi, salted lassi, mint lassi, and many more. But sweet lassi is also getting popular among the people recently.

Lassi is made with fresh homemade yogurt and blended with your hands using a traditional wooden churner which is known as Madani

Also, traditionally it is served in an earthen pot known as Matkas. Topped with cream or white butter and some chopped nuts along with cardamom powder. Adding saffron strands or rose water is optional but it enhances the flavor and taste of the lassi. While making the lassi you can add some water or milk to make it a little less thick.

I have also shared some other refreshing and cooling summer drinks for your refreshment so don’t forget to check out the recipes.
